About the role

This is an hourly position starting at $22.50 per hour plus a $1 shift differential. The Inventory Clerk plays a key role in accurate and timely inventory and general accounting functions.

Responsibilities

  • Process daily production paperwork to track production yields.
  • Maintain inventory tracking spreadsheets for internal use.
  • Create and post inventory assembly entries to the general ledger to relieve inventory and build items for billing.
  • Assist with the receipt of inventory items into the accounting software.
  • Review payroll records for accuracy and submit weekly hourly payroll to an outside payroll company.
  • Apply customer payments and reconcile cash receipts to deposit amounts before posting.
  • Perform accounting duties in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
  • Research, track, and resolve (or properly refer) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve production yield problems and inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain the company’s professional reputation through effective communication and coordination with personnel and management.
  • Assist Accounting Department personnel as needed and keep management informed of area activities and significant problems.
  • Report transactions outside established purchasing policies to the Controller.
  • Maintain regular contact with other departments to obtain information and/or correct transactions.
  • Ensure the work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
  • Perform general accounting duties as needed and maintain confidentiality.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Additional bookkeeping courses preferred.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and spreadsheets.
  • At least two years of previous accounting/bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of previous spreadsheet experience.
  • Knowledge of Company policies regarding inventory and purchasing.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English; bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong math skills and good attention to detail.
  • Well-organized with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Adaptable, dependable, and able to follow direction while working cooperatively with others.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions and handle problems involving a few variables.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Work Environment

  • Sedentary office work, sitting for long hours.
  • Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • Frequent and regular use of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.
  • Must be able to exert 10 lbs. of force occasionally throughout the day.
  • Typical office environment with no hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
  • May include exposure to cold and/or hot temperatures and use of sharp tools such as knives.

Pay
