About the role

Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the Warehouse-Inventory Clerk will assist with all shipping and receiving procedures, inventory control and customer service representative functions while providing excellent customer service. In this operational position, you will be responsible for planning and executing the required process steps through the WMS systems, generating all required shipment and inventory related documents, and providing accurate verbal and email communications to external/internal customers and process partners. This role operates within a temperature-controlled facility.

Responsibilities

  • Control the flow of work within the facility to meet receiving and shipping departure times while maintaining accuracy and KPI commitments
  • Multitask in a high-paced environment while being detail oriented
  • Prioritize and adjust to immediate workload requirements
  • Communicate effectively to the team, customer, truck drivers and other process partners via radio, phone, and email, at a professional level
  • Troubleshoot associate needs with system issues and/or equipment problems
  • Assist with daily/weekly operational reports
  • Learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities
  • Work as a member of a team, accomplish team goals and meet warehouse metrics
  • Maintain professionalism with management and co-workers
  • Dispatch and check in trailers, managing yard and dock locations
  • Ensure system count matches physical inventory through regularly scheduled Cycle Counts
  • Resolve discrepancies at location and pallet level through the completion of Audit Counts
  • Audit inbound receipts, both physically and through receipt documentation
  • Process any overage or shortage receipts through the site specific OSD Standard Operating Procedures
  • Update WMS to match physical inventory through various methods (i.e. Cycle Counting, Inventory Adjustments, etc.)
  • Research and document root cause
  • Utilize Material Handling Equipment to conduct daily task activities
  • Perform new SKU setup and validation
  • Accurately input required data elements into WMS and various other applications
  • Manage inventory adjustments as required
  • Maintain accurate storage logic as developed with industrial engineer
  • Slot new items daily maintaining optimal locations and pick patterns
  • Process analysis and documentation
  • Assist in development and implementation of special projects and tasks

Qualifications

  • At least one year of inventory control experience
  • At least one year of shipping/receiving office/clerk experience
  • At least one year of customer service representative experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior use of warehouse management systems and scanners preferred (Blue Yonder/JDA is a plus)
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn in-house systems required
  • Intermediate skill level of Microsoft Office suite preferred
  • Ability to work varied schedule including weekend and early morning/late afternoon shifts, when required
  • Flexible to work overtime required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English required
  • Ability to follow directions and basic math skills required
  • Ability to pay close attention to details, meet deadlines, and work with difficult individuals
  • Willingness to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening

Physical Requirements

The associate will be required to read; communicate verbally and/or in written form; remember and analyze certain information; and remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be required to stand, walk, and sit for 8 hours. The associate is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms. The associate must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs, as well as open and close dock doors and perform facility & truck yard audits.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay

$23/hour base rate

Schedule

Available Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
