Invasive Radiology Technologist, Per Diem, 10 Hour Shift

About the role

Aids licensed independent physicians in performing minimally invasive catheter-based diagnostic and interventional radiological procedures at PIH Health. Works in various vascular and organ systems, using a range of interventional radiology equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in diagnosing and treating conditions through interventional radiology procedures
• Maintains patient safety and comfort during procedures
• Uses contrast agents, stents, PTA catheters, wires, guide catheter sheaths, Thrombectomy, atherectomy, and thrombolysis interventional equipment
• Performs basic patient care and assessment techniques
• Ensures accurate positioning and exposure techniques
• Communicates effectively with patients and team members

Requirements

• Technical skills in general radiography and fluoroscopy
• Knowledge of all vasculature and organ systems
• Knowledge of all interventional radiology procedures
• Skilled in the use of interventional radiology equipment
• Basic patient care and assessment techniques
• Knowledgeable in radiation physics, biology, protection, and medical terminology
• High degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques
• Communication skills

Qualifications

• Certificates from CRT and/or ARRT
• Fluoroscopy permit
• CPR/BLS - Basic Life Support
• Two (2) years’ experience in a hospital or clinic setting performing diagnostic radiological procedures
