Intraoperative Monitoring (IOM)-Neurophysiology Technician IV / NYP-CUIMC / Full-time / Day shift
About the role
The Neurophysiology Technician will have an Intraoperative focus on populations of all age groups, interacting with Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Cardiac and Vascular teams. The role involves setting up patients for Operating Room monitoring with minimal supervision, performing electrode application in an anesthetized patient while adhering to scrupulous observance of sterile Operating Room protocols, and conducting electrode application using needle electrodes for intraoperative stimulation and recording.
Responsibilities
- Set up patient for Operating Room monitoring with minimal supervision
- Effectively and cooperatively partner with the surgical and anesthesia teams
- Perform electrode application in an anesthetized patient while adhering to scrupulous observance of sterile Operating Room protocols
- Conduct electrode application using needle electrodes for intraoperative stimulation and recording
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited electroneurodiagnostic technology training program (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP))
- Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) required by the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostics Technologists (ABRET)
- Three to five years experience performing Electroencephalogram (EEG) and/or Evoked Potential (EP)
- Knowledge of applicable computer operating systems and software

Schedule
7:00 am - 3:00 pm plus on-call and weekend coverage as needed
