Intramural Official (STUDENT/WORK STUDY)

We are seeking students for part-time intramural official positions. Officials will facilitate a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for all program participants. There will be opportunities to officiate season-long sports, tournaments, and help with special events. No officiating experience is needed; training will be provided for the various sports we offer.

Responsibilities

• Enforce rules and regulations for intramural sporting events
• Check in participants on scorecard and verify eligibility status
• Accurately record scores, fouls, and sportsmanship ratings
• Ensure a high level of sportsmanship at all times
• Set up and break down activity area when needed
• Develop and maintain knowledge of rules and regulations for each sport
• Attend required meetings and trainings

Requirements

• Current UM-Flint student
• Basic understanding of various sports
• Eagerness to learn and grow within recreational sports

Desired Qualifications

• Previous playing, officiating, or coaching experience
• Certified MHSAA official in Football, Basketball, Soccer, or Volleyball

Pay

$15.50 per hour

Schedule

Shifts will take place in the evenings during the fall and winter semesters. This is a part-time, temporary position.

Work is fully onsite at a designated U-M owned or leased work location. Background screening will be conducted upon acceptance of a contingent offer.
