Event Details

Date: Monday, July 27, 2026
Time: Noon – 4:00 PM
Location: 111 Waverly Ave, Syracuse, NY 13244 (enter through the front doors and a team member will greet and escort you to the conference room)
Parking: Use the University Ave Garage at 1104 Adams St, SU’s primary visitor garage. Grab a ticket at entry — it’ll be validated after your interview.

How To Get Ready

• Apply in advance online and attach a current resume — this shows your interest ahead of the event
• Bring at least one printed copy of your resume
• Arrive any time between Noon– 4:00 PM
• If you have one, please bring a fully charged phone

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous food service, hospitality, retail, or operations experience helpful
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event days as needed
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to required limits
• Reliable transportation is a must, buses may not run late enough for some shifts

Skills and Knowledge

• The ability to read, write, count, and follow instructions
• The ability to communicate well with the public
• Excellent customer service
• Follow instructions and established procedures to perform duties
• Must attend all required training sessions

Responsibilities

(varies based on position)

• Deliver exceptional customer service to guests at sporting events, concerts, and campus functions
• Assist with food and beverage service, including serving, running food, bartending, and guest support
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
• Supervise and coordinate staff to ensure efficient daily operations and compliance with policies and safety standards as assigned
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (culinary, operations, logistics, and administration) to support event and dining success
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support dining, catering, and event operations
• Provide excellent customer service to students, guests, and event attendees
• Assist with catering setup, service, and breakdown
• Operate concession stands during athletic and special events
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas
• Support supervisors and managers with daily operations
• Follow all food safety, workplace safety, and university policies
• Evening and weekend availability required

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to repeatedly lift at least 45 lbs. to waist height or higher
• Must be able to walk/stand for several hours at a time throughout the shift
• Must be able to perform extensive bending and flexing at the waist
• Must be able to repeatedly rotate (twist and turn) head and torso
• Must be able to frequently and repeatedly squat or stoop to the ground as necessary to complete tasks
• Must be able to reach arms overhead
• May be exposed to products used for cleaning and maintenance of the facility
