Primary Skills Utilized/learned
- Assists with a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Works in the vascular, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional radiology, and neuroscience service lines
- Supports patients ranging from infancy through geriatric
- Functions in a multipurpose role depending on patient and operator needs
- Complies with MetroHealth System policies and procedures and governing ODH regulations
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or high school equivalency exam
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Radiographer License for the State of Ohio
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- ARRT Vascular Interventional or ARRT Cardiac Interventional credentials or obtain within 36 months of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or obtain within 1 year of hire
- BLS Certification from the AHA or obtain within the standard probationary period
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work on-call hours on a rotating basis
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of related experience with advanced certification in Vascular Interventional and/or Cardiac Interventional Radiography
- Experience in the use of computers and sophisticated diagnostic equipment
- Basic knowledge of cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and ability to interpret ECGs
- Experience working with a sterile field using sterile technique
- Experience operating a C-arm
Physical Demands
- Sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently
- Sit or stand for extended periods
- See in the normal visual range with or without correction
- Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
- Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance
- Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance
- Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids
- Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products
