Interventional Specialty Tech PRN-Radiology Interventional Radio

Primary Skills Utilized/learned

• Assists with a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Works in the vascular, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional radiology, and neuroscience service lines
• Supports patients ranging from infancy through geriatric
• Functions in a multipurpose role depending on patient and operator needs
• Complies with MetroHealth System policies and procedures and governing ODH regulations

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or high school equivalency exam
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
• Radiographer License for the State of Ohio
• Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• ARRT Vascular Interventional or ARRT Cardiac Interventional credentials or obtain within 36 months of employment
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or obtain within 1 year of hire
• BLS Certification from the AHA or obtain within the standard probationary period
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work on-call hours on a rotating basis
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of related experience with advanced certification in Vascular Interventional and/or Cardiac Interventional Radiography
• Experience in the use of computers and sophisticated diagnostic equipment
• Basic knowledge of cardiac anatomy, hemodynamics, and ability to interpret ECGs
• Experience working with a sterile field using sterile technique
• Experience operating a C-arm

Physical Demands

• Sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently
• Sit or stand for extended periods
• See in the normal visual range with or without correction
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction
• Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance
• Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance
• Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids
• Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products
