About the Role

Performs a variety of complex specialized tasks in operating radiographic equipment to perform interventional procedures. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods.
• Assists in the development of others through guidance and teaching.
• Promotes professional practice of all members of the radiological services team.
• Monitors and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
• Effectively manages resources such as supplies and equipment.
• Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.
• Demonstrates professional work behavior and excellent customer service routinely in all interactions.
• Occasionally demonstrates job responsibilities to other Associates and instructs student technologists.

Requirements

• Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology (Required).
• 1-3 years of experience as an interventional radiologic technologist, with demonstrated clinical competencies in special procedures (Required).
• Registered Radiologic Technologist certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Required).
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (Required).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (Preferred).

Skills

• Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.
• Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred).

Physical Demands

The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination.

• Medium work: exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
• Close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform activities such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, or extensive reading.
• Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
• Exposure to patient body fluids as well as hazardous or poisonous materials.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
