Responsibilities
- Prepares procedure room for cases
- Familiarity with medical imaging software and equipment operation
- Checks sterility of all essential supplies
- Enters pertinent patient information into radiology equipment
- Applies sterile drape and prepares access site using sterile/aseptic technique
- Sets up and flushes manifold and supplies
- Aids in procedures as directed by provider
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers
- Reports problems with equipment and/or supplies immediately to manager/supervisor
- Maintains a positive attitude and calm composure
- Promotes teamwork through collaboration
- Maintains good work relationships with coworkers
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
- Ensures items used during a procedure are scanned tracking system under patient account
- Maintains strict adherence to standards of care, attire in the procedure rooms, and sterile traffic patterns
- Performs procedures according to established organizational protocol and/or provider direction
- Complies with manufacturers’ guidelines for use and maintenance of supplies and equipment
- Possesses knowledge of radiation safety and universal precautions
- Acquires and retains knowledge of organizational and departmental fire and safety regulations, disaster plans, hazardous materials and their appropriate disposal
- Reports any hazardous conditions immediately
- Responds and adapts to changing departmental needs and procedures
- Contributes to Quality Improvement initiatives
- Learns new procedures through observation and relevant sources
- Completes mandatory competencies and in-services
- Identifies own learning needs
- Pursues opportunities for professional growth
- Accepts feedback on personal and professional development in a positive manner
Requirements
- Trade/Vocational School Graduate from an accredited college or school of Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular, or Scrub Technology required
- 1-2 years Interventional Radiology, Endovascular, and /or Neurovascular experience preferred
Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology, with an emphasis on the vascular systems
- Knowledge of radiation protection
- Knowledge of neuro and interventional radiology supplies and techniques
- (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer upon hire required and NJ Department of Environmental Protection License upon hire required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association upon hire required

Pay
$41.25/hour - $49.50/hour
