About the role
PRN position with guaranteed 35 hours/week. Monday - Friday shifts. Call is required. PRN Rate: $45.70/hour.
Responsibilities
- Utilizes time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Manages resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with individualized patient and unit needs.
- Uses standards of care, hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
- Assesses patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interviews, and review of medical records and clinical data.
- Develops and implements patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, observing outcomes in accordance with nursing standards.
- Demonstrates competency in therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
- Advocates for and protects the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
- Provides patient and family education based on assessment of learning readiness, needs, and ability, and evaluates the effectiveness of teaching.
- Recognizes the patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for the patient's preferences, values, and needs.
- Delivers relationship-based care, engaging patients in all aspects of care with respect for cultural differences and diversity.
- Delegates tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
Qualifications
- Associate's of Nursing (Required)
- Bachelor's of Nursing (Preferred)
- Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required)
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) (Required)

- Keyboarding skills (manual)
- Computer skills (visual and general knowledge)
- Proficient in conversational English (reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension)
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- High level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise the plan of care according to patient outcomes
- Critical care experience
- Advanced IV skill set (preferred)
- Experience with electronic medical records (preferred)
- 3+ years of Cath Lab/IR experience or Critical Care experience in MICU, CVICU, SICU, Neuro ICU, Burn ICU highly preferred for this department
