About the role
This position is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. It requires providing advanced clinical care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, demonstrating independent judgment, rapid decision-making, and effective team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-procedure assessments, ensuring patient readiness and education.
- Support procedures as circulating, monitoring, and procedural staff, managing airway, hemodynamics, and patient stabilization.
- Care for complex patients, including trauma and emergent cases, with quick response to condition changes.
- Coordinate patient flow, scheduling, and case prioritization, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient care.
- Participate in quality improvement, program development, data tracking, and departmental initiatives.
- Support on-call duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficiency with interventional radiology equipment, sterile technique, and emergency response.
- Strong assessment skills, airway management, and hemodynamic stability expertise.
- Experience working with providers and teams in procedural or critical care settings.
- Proficiency in MS Office; EMR experience preferred.
Education & Experience
- BSN required; master’s degree preferred.
- Current RN licensure for the relevant state required.
- BLS and PALS certifications required; additional nursing certifications preferred.
- At least two years of nursing experience in procedural, critical care, or acute care settings, with preference for interventional radiology or emergency experience.
