About the role

Intervention Specialists at ACTS are integral in providing support and guidance to juveniles and their families involved in domestic violence cases. This role involves conducting thorough assessments, developing intervention plans, and facilitating various therapeutic and supportive services.

Responsibilities

• Schedule in-home appointments within 14 days of client admission.
• Complete thorough interviews with the juvenile, family members, referral sources, and collateral sources.
• Create and implement an intervention plan with the juvenile and identify their needs.
• Conduct and document progress reviews on a monthly basis.
• Identify and refer substance abuse issues among household members.
• Provide educational materials to non-abusing members aged 10-17.
• Offer specialized counseling focusing on communication, anger management, problem-solving, coping skills, parenting, and other identified needs.
• Assist families in accessing necessary services and alternative placement options.
• Collaborate with treatment and community service providers to streamline services and avoid duplication.
• Maintain a caseload of 10-12 families and document all activities and information.
• Participate in crisis intervention curriculum and CPR/First Aid training.
• Lift up to 50 pounds at a time and maintain physical fitness for securing settings.
• Make critical decisions in high-stress situations and communicate effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or a closely related human services field.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License.
• Ability to pass Federal, State, Local Law and Level 2 background clearances.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Ability to make critical decisions in high-stress situations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
