Position Description

United Schools Intervention Specialists provide targeted support to students with special needs in various settings to help them grow and succeed. They work with students, families, and colleagues to design and implement individualized programs.

Qualifications

  • Holds a B.A./B.S. degree and has the ability to secure the appropriate teaching license.
  • Has prior experience working in urban schools and/or communities (preferred).

Knowledge and Skills

  • Uses data-driven instructional practices and techniques outlined in Teach Like a Champion 3.0 to improve student outcomes.
  • Writes, refines, and internalizes curriculum, lessons, and assessments.
  • Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Comfortable with Google products for effective communication and job responsibilities.

Terms of Employment

  • Position begins July 27, 2026, but applications are considered immediately.
  • This is a full-time position with typical work hours of Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., though some job-related tasks may be expected outside of these hours.
  • The starting salary for a new Intervention Specialist with a Bachelor’s degree is $49,000. Other starting salaries depend on professional experience and education level.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage, and eligibility for STRS or SERS.
