Job Summary

Responsible for providing leadership and training to other Interpreters on staff, both in and outside the classroom.

Essential Functions

  • Interprets/transliterates for advanced situations and in appropriate training situations as needed.
  • Reports on the required training needs, creates training and workshop proposals, and delivers applicable training programs as approved.
  • Defines training and workshop mission statements, target population, workshop goals and objectives.
  • Creates lesson plans, records lesson materials, and devises assessment strategies and solutions.
  • Determines and analyzes training needs; develops, coordinates, delivers, and facilitates training classes to meet departmental and staff needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Interpreter required
  • Interpreting experience 3-5 years required
  • Fluency of English and Spanish, both written and verbal
  • Prior training of medical terminology and interpreting skills
  • Knowledge of culture-specific care
