Relocation to the United States – Norfolk, Virginia. The employer provides a NATO‑5 visa.

About the role

This position sits at the requirements end of a multinational defence organisation’s standing programme that makes the systems of member nations work together. The role involves drawing out what is needed, documenting it so engineers can build against it, and keeping test evidence complete enough to report on.

Responsibilities

  • Support federated interoperability across the whole capability lifecycle.
  • Draw out and record interoperability requirements across every dimension of a capability, not just the technical one.
  • Contribute to the policies, directives and concepts that govern how interoperability is done.
  • Monitor the quality, completeness and consistency of test data in designated tools, and close gaps rather than merely reporting them.
  • Run structured communication with communities of interest and prepare participants for interoperability events.
  • Provide participants with timely, usable guidance on processes, tools and events.
  • Support analysis of collected data and produce the resulting reports and briefings.
  • Administer role‑based access to the interoperability test tooling.
  • Travel to meetings and conferences up to about thirty days per year.

Qualifications

  • A four‑year university degree or higher from a recognised institution.
  • At least five of the last ten years working in multinational collaboration and coordination, ideally in an alliance or comparable multinational setting.
  • At least three of the last ten years supporting interoperability initiatives, campaigns or exercises across several stakeholders and nations.
  • At least three of the last ten years managing and delivering interoperability requirements, including governance, data collection and reporting.
  • At least three of the last ten years planning and running events, workshops, conferences and exercises.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce durable written records such as meeting notes, action lists, reports and briefings.
  • Fluent professional English.
  • Willingness to engage in a long‑term engagement that renews year on year, rather than a short‑term project.
