Internship, Process Engineering, Cell Engineering (Fall 2026)

About the role

Tesla is seeking an engineer to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. This internship focuses on project execution and process development within the Cathode Manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

• Interface with internal teams on production improvement initiatives
• Design and execute trials in the process space and analyze resulting data
• Build highly detailed scopes of work for potential equipment installs as required
• Interface with external vendors to identify potential future equipment needs for expansions or retrofits

Requirements

• Progress toward a bachelor’s degree in process, material science, chemical, or applicable engineering disciplines
• Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and demonstrated ability to solve technical problems
• Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and communication skills
• Previous internship in a production-scale environment preferred
• Previous work with powder handling equipment preferred
• Ability to read and understand process flow diagrams and system requirements
• Experience with pneumatic conveyance desired
• Willingness to work in the field and collaborate with operations

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site
• Minimum of 12 weeks, full-time commitment required
• International students must consult their school regarding CPT eligibility

Pay

The pay for this internship is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This internship is expected to start around August 2026 and continue through the Fall term (through December 2026) or into Spring 2027 if available.
