Internship, BIM Engineering, Cell Engineering (Fall 2026)

The Internship Recruiting Team is passionate about recognizing and developing emerging talent. This position is expected to start around August 2026 and continue through the entire Fall term (through December 2026) or into Spring 2027 if available. Interns are required to work full-time and on-site for a minimum of 12 weeks.

About The Role

• Accelerate the transition to renewable energy by focusing on battery materials manufacturing at a commercial scale.
• Play a major role in reality capture of current facilities to guide planning of next stage expansion projects.
• Improve existing BIM standards and work processes within the Cathode manufacturing organization.
• Maximize the utility of 3D tools to more efficiently plan future installations.
• Join a team focused on cathode manufacturing and development.
• Assist in the day-to-day needs of the Cathode Design team and work closely with a senior engineer on future expansion projects.
• Support the Cathode manufacturing plant as needed.

Responsibilities

• Interface with both Cathode manufacturing resources and Gigafactory Texas BIM resources to improve current systems and documentation.
• Work with BIM mentors to scan current process areas to help identify potential current and future clashes.
• Collaborate with mechanical and process engineers to ensure current BIM documentation is up to date.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Virtual Design and Construction.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and demonstrated ability to solve challenging technical problems.
• Experience in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Plant 3D.
• Previous internship in a production scale environment is preferred.

• Evidence of exceptional ability, including a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and demonstrated ability to leverage this understanding to solve challenging technical problems.
• Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and communication skills.

• Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Plant 3D.
• Revizto, Solidworks, Inventor, Fabrication CAD MEP, and ReCap.
