About the role

The position is expected to start around August 2026 and continue through the entire Fall term (i.e. through December 2026) or into Spring 2027 if available. Full-time and on-site commitment is required.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the process improvement for Tesla Energy Batteries
  • Aid support in development and execution of DOE, CAD modeling, fixturing, troubleshooting of controls, issue analysis, data acquisition, operator training, technical documentation, etc.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to test, validate, and rollout equipment to production
  • Develop and install new production machines and troubleshoot issues affecting production runtime and quality targets
  • Design and develop automated manufacturing equipment and associated processes
  • Support the development and improvement of manufacturing processes and process flow
  • Develop and implement new equipment and processes associated with safety, quality, throughput, and cost
  • Support development, commissioning, deployment, ramp, and optimization of inline metrology systems for cell manufacturing
  • Develop and implement physical systems, power delivery, energy storage and transformation, and thermo-fluids engineering solutions

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Electrical, Aerospace, or a related field
  • Experience with SolidWorks, Catia, CAD/AutoCAD, Revit, 3DX or other 3D modelling software
  • PLC code programming and structure with Siemens, Beckhoff, Rockwell PLC
  • Experience using MATLAB/Simulink for modeling physical systems
  • First-principle physics understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, power delivery, energy storage and transformation, and thermo-fluids engineering
