At The Berg Group, a Designer is part artist, part visionary, part engineer and part computer tech wizard, all rolled into one! As a Designer, you will work with our clients and guide them from concept to realization, using your strong design background and ability to utilize 21st century tools to the limit in the name of building better client solutions. You will create an innovative and unique experience for every client from initial education to final walkthroughs. This position is open to remote employees. If working from a remote location; a dedicated home workspace with reliable internet speed and service is required. Essential Functions Primary Responsibilities/Duties Design client projects using our proprietary systems, (ICE software), populating space from scratch or from a predesigned AutoCAD planWork with the Preconstruction departments to assist the team with their custom requestsIdentify and offer solutions to issues partners may experience with their proposed designs/installationsComplete revisions to ICE files and DIRTT shop drawings as neededCreate visual renderings and 3D fly throughs using ICE, as neededOrganize DIRTT standards, finishes, and DIRTT LibraryDevelop, maintain, and update design documentation as requiredDevelop skills and knowledge within the designer team by sharing internal and external knowledge gathered from completing projects Qualifications Minimum Qualifications AutoCAD ExperienceRevit/SketchUp ExperienceDesign Process UnderstandingStrong Communication SkillsPositive AttitudeStrategic Planning Preferred Qualifications Education – working towards a degree or diploma in design or architectureMinimum of 3 to 4 years of education from an accredited college, or universityPassion for architecture and designAbility to read/analyze/interpret architectural drawings/sketchesProficient in AutoCAD and Revit (preferred)Proficient in Windows, Office 365, individual Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to work in fast-paced environmentDeadline orientedHigh sense of urgency with strong time management skills and ability to work independentlyStrong interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skillsWorking towards professional Certification – NCIDQ, LEED, EDAC are a plus Sedentary Work Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 - 15 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying.Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
