About the Role

The Self-Driving Fleet Data team focuses on mining data from millions of Tesla vehicles to enhance neural networks and create real-time analytics for Self-Driving performance. Interns contribute to key data pipelines and assist in monitoring system health, ensuring reliability at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to end-to-end data pipeline development, from fleet data ingestion to visualization
  • Define and implement key performance metrics for Tesla’s self-driving systems
  • Monitor system health using observability tools
  • Create reusable developer tools and internal libraries
  • Support data flow optimization
  • Evaluate the impact of new datasets on model performance and system insights
  • Create interactive dashboards and visualization tools

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field with a graduation date of December 2026 - December 2027
  • Proficient in Python and SQL, with practical experience writing clean, efficient code
  • Exposure to the full data lifecycle, including data sourcing, ingestion, transformation, and analysis
  • Demonstrate ability to take ownership of projects, from identifying data needs to building and testing simple pipelines or dashboards
  • Adaptable and proactive, thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

Pay

$36 - $50/annual salary + benefits
