Internal Registry Registered Nurse RN - Emergency Services

About the role

Location: Chicago, IL. Department: Emergency Services. Status: Temporary Internal Registry (Full-Time, .9). Assignment expected to last 12 weeks, with staffing needs evaluated ongoing and may be adjusted based on operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry.
• Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ALS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Facility Specific Requirements:
  • ECRN or MICN certificate required within 12 months of hire and maintained current.
  • EDAP certified facilities: Completion of required annual education.
  • Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Trauma designated facilities: Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) required within 12 months of hire and maintain.
  • Non-trauma facilities: TNCC preferred.

Pay

Compensation: $60.00 per hour (Flat Rate). Pay transparency note: Saint Mary of Nazareth offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $60.00; exact starting compensation will be determined based on skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
