Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Induce, monitor and recover patients from anesthesia.
• Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Patient discharge and client education.

Requirements

• Prior veterinary experience required.
• Previous internal medicine or anesthesia experience desired.

Skills

• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay

This position has an initial hiring range of $20.75 to $31.00 per hour based on skillset and experience. We support our caregivers with lucrative shift differentials: Hours worked between 8pm and 11:59pm = base pay + $2/hour; Hours worked between 12am to 7:59am = base pay + $3/hour; Hours worked on Weekends (day or night) = base pay + $1/hour + any applicable differential.
