Internal Medicine Program Director, (Physician Role)

Responsibilities

The Program Director is responsible for the general administration, curriculum planning, recruitment, and teaching and supervision of the IM Residency Program. The Program Director establishes the strategic direction of the Program and is responsible for the standards, quality, and reputation of the Program. The Program Director supports integration of the IM Program with physician practices and hospital clinical services to enhance value and quality and promote an optimal environment for professional practice and medical education. The Program Director will provide some inpatient and outpatient services related to hospitalist and/or the resident continuity clinic.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of Internal Medicine post-residency clinical experience
• A minimum of three years of GME teaching/administrative experience as Program Director or Associate Program Director
• Excellent communication skills
• Active involvement in research and scholarship (publications, presentations, etc.)
• Mentorship experience of residents and students in scholarship and development of scholarship programs

Preferred Qualifications

• Inpatient and administrative experience preferred
