This is a hybrid position in Herndon, VA, requiring 2-3 days a week onsite.
About the role
Develop internal content that informs, educates, and engages our workforce using a multi-channel, integrated approach—leveraging the latest tools and techniques across digital and live mediums—to reach employees in hybrid work environments, including company offices, secure government buildings, and client sites. You will be highly task- and project-oriented, developing and driving strategic internal communication plans that align with business priorities, enhance employee understanding, and reinforce company culture.
Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and refine high-volume, rapid-pace internal communications and executive messaging on tight deadlines.
- Create and execute multi-channel media content including lockscreens, internal web pages, audio/video scripts, and webinars.
- Develop strategic internal communication plans and multi-channel campaigns for enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Manage complex communication projects from inception to completion through cross-functional stakeholder collaboration.
- Evolve digital channels and live communications mediums using modern tools to elevate employee engagement.
- Partner with company leadership to draft executive messaging, talking points, and strategic announcements.
- Analyze communication campaign performance metrics to assess audience reach and message effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in internal communications, corporate communication, media, or public relations.
- Proven experience developing internal communication strategies and executive-level messaging within a complex organization.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to produce error-free copy rapidly.
- Demonstrated technical and creative proficiency across multiple digital, print, and live media channels.
- Strong project management and organizational skills to independently prioritize and execute concurrent initiatives.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting corporate communications within the government contracting or defense industry.
- Proven track record of leveraging modern multimedia formats and analytics tools to drive employee engagement.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated success building relationships with senior executive leadership.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
