As the Volunteer Services Intern, you will play an important role in supporting two highly visible and meaningful programs: Adopt-A-Family and In-Kind Donations. Through collaboration with donors, volunteers, staff, and community partners, you'll help create positive experiences for everyone involved while supporting Avivo's mission of dignity, connection, and opportunity. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in volunteer management, donor engagement, nonprofit operations, project coordination, and community impact. What You'll Do Support the planning and execution of Avivo's Adopt-A-Family holiday gifting programAssist with client and donor registration processesCommunicate with internal staff, volunteers, and community donorsHelp coordinate and match donors with participating individuals and familiesSupport training and communication related to gift acceptance and distributionAssist with inventory management and tracking of in-kind donationsSupport a client-centered donation model that allows participants to select needed itemsWork alongside volunteers and support weekly volunteer activitiesAssist with special projects that support Volunteer Services goals and community engagementPromote culturally responsive and inclusive practices throughout all interactions Qualifications What You Bring Currently enrolled in an accredited educational programWorking toward a bachelor's degree in social work, volunteer management, nonprofit management, or a related field, or equivalent experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsProficiency with Microsoft Word and ExcelStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing prioritiesSound judgment and ability to maintain confidentialityCommitment to working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communitiesValid driver's license, proof of insurance, reliable transportation, and ability to travel locally as needed What You'll Gain Hands-on nonprofit experienceExposure to volunteer management and donor engagementExperience coordinating community-based programsOpportunities to develop project management and communication skillsMentorship and professional development in a mission-driven organization How To Apply Submit your application online through Avivo’s Careers page at Avivomn.org.
