Intern - MEP Summer 2027

About the role

WGI is seeking a Summer intern to join our MEP team in Austin, TX. The internship is paid and designed for college students, offering a well‑rounded learning environment that enhances classroom education with hands‑on experience on real projects for both private and public clients. Interns will bridge the gap between academics and the professional work environment, developing skills to navigate everyday work scenarios while contributing to a collaborative, team‑driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Work on challenging projects that require collaboration within and among various departments.
• Contribute to team projects and individual tasks assigned in the discipline you support.
• Maintain punctuality, dependability, and adherence to company policies and guidelines.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least two years of study at an accredited college in a related field.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis; the company cannot sponsor employment visas.

Skills

• Solid PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and/or MicroStation is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to varied work environments, including indoor, outdoor, and project site locations.
• Hand‑eye coordination for computer use, telephone headset operation, and virtual communication via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

Physical Demands

The role requires prolonged sitting, frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer and tools, and the ability to speak, hear, and see clearly (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception). Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
