About the role
The purpose of the mental health intern is to provide mental health services in the adult correctional facilities operated by the Department of Corrections.
Responsibilities
- Assessment of offender's behavioral health needs
- Providing groups, individual sessions, treatment plans, and documentation
Qualifications
- Pursuing a master’s degree from an accredited institution in one of the following mental health fields: counseling, social, work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy
- Minimum of 6 credit hours in the upcoming semester or immediately preceding semester
- Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of Junior/Senior year, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions
Requirements
- Current part-time or full-time student status
- Pass a background investigation
- Successful completion of a drug screening
Benefits
Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening.

$25.47 per hour
