Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Maintains a smooth flow in waiting areas and exam rooms and informs patients and team members of delays.
• Performs medical assistant duties in a safe and efficient manner.
• Takes brief patient histories that include chief complaints, vital signs, and weights; assists physicians with procedures; draws blood and obtains urine specimens; administers injections as approved for CMAs (if certified); provides patient instructions per physician's orders; conducts authorized in-office tests.
• Prepares patient charts in advance of their visit.
• Accurately and promptly sets up examination rooms, materials, and equipment; monitors required stock levels and anticipates unique supply needs for patients/providers.
• May assist with preloading data into EMR systems.
• Completes all authorized patient chart documentation in an accurate, legible, and timely manner.
• Monitors general clinical supply inventory and equipment.
• Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in and completed the classroom portion of an accredited school of Medical Assisting.
• Passed, or is eligible to sit for, a National Certified Medical Assistant certificate.
• MUST have reliable transportation to the assigned practice every day as scheduled.
• Required licenses and certifications: BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support, HCP Certification.
