Intern, Human Resources

Apex Tool Group is looking for an HR Intern based in our Jonesboro, AR facility. This role provides hands-on experience across various HR functions in a fast-paced distribution environment, helping to enhance employee experience and support overall business goals.

About the role

The HR Intern will support the Jonesboro manufacturing site by assisting with day-to-day Human Resources operations and initiatives under the guidance of the HR Generalist. The intern will gain exposure to both administrative and strategic aspects of HR, including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, data entry, reporting, training coordination, and HR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support the HR Generalist in daily HR operations within the Jonesboro manufacturing site.
• Assist with recruitment efforts for hourly positions, including job postings, resume screening, interview coordination, and onboarding activities.
• Support the full employee lifecycle, including HR orientations, feedback meetings, and exit interviews.
• Stay up to date on HR laws and regulations and ensure compliance in all HR activities.
• Help coordinate employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and communication initiatives.
• Respond to general employee inquiries and direct them to the appropriate resources as needed.
• Participate in process improvement projects to enhance HR systems and workflows.
• Provide administrative support for performance management, safety, and policy implementation activities.
• Collaborate with HR and operations teams to ensure a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications

• Student or recent graduate in Human Resources, Management, or other Business major (or a similar field).
• Proven, proficient user of MS Office (specifically Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• High level of comfort in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects efficiently and adapting to changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Possess an entrepreneurial spirit to fully own and take pride in assigned work.
• Previous internship or work experience preferred.
