About the role

As a Forvis Mazars Forensic & Valuation Intern, you will develop expertise, expand your knowledge, and build collaborative relationships within the practice and with clients. You’ll receive meaningful support from firm leadership for substantial professional development and perform services for clients across the country. Responsibilities

  • Preparing business valuation models and reports
  • Researching and analyzing industry, transactional, and economic information
  • Preparing for and participating in management interviews, either onsite or via teleconference
  • Assisting audit teams with reviewing and testing fair value estimates
  • Assisting with mathematical testing related to quality control procedures
  • Participating in investigations, litigation support, and forensic consulting engagements
  • Performing detailed analysis of financial and legal documents, analysis of potentially fraudulent transactions, and reconstruction of financial statements
  • Applying technical research skills needed to gather, organize, summarize, and interpret data to arrive at a conclusion
  • Delivering Forvis Mazars' commitment to unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication with internal and external clients

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college/university
  • Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher (in major and overall)
  • Some travel may be required, up to 20%
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective time management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with a team as well as independently
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Willingness to take initiative
  • Close attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and against deadlines
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire (visa sponsorship is not available for this position)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Desire or the ability to sit for the CPA exam
  • Desire to obtain the Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV), Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credentials

Pay

New York Salary Range: $27 – $39 USD

Virginia Salary Range: $27 – $39 USD

Positions that are non-exempt will be eligible for overtime pay compensable at a rate of one and a half times the hourly rate for any hours worked over 40 in a work week.
