About the role

At Forvis Mazars, our Forensics & Valuation practice is led by a talented team of experienced professionals who have a sincere appreciation for people and how they are uniquely motivated. Our forensics and valuation professionals provide services including forensic accounting, litigation services, fraud investigations, and handling complex valuation issues related to compliance, mergers & acquisitions, and financial reporting. We focus on training and developing our teams to help them reach their full potential.

As a Forensic & Valuation Intern, you will develop expertise, expand your knowledge, and build collaborative relationships within the practice and with clients. You will receive meaningful support from firm leadership for professional development and perform services for clients across the country. Our leadership team takes pride in creating and maintaining a supportive and respectful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing business valuation models and reports
  • Researching and analyzing industry, transactional, and economic information
  • Preparing for and participating in management interviews, either onsite or via teleconference
  • Assisting audit teams with reviewing and testing fair value estimates
  • Assisting with mathematical testing related to quality control procedures
  • Participating in investigations, litigation support, and forensic consulting engagements
  • Performing detailed analysis of financial and legal documents, analysis of potentially fraudulent transactions, and reconstruction of financial statements
  • Applying technical research skills to gather, organize, summarize, and interpret data to arrive at a conclusion
  • Delivering Forvis Mazars' commitment to unmatched client experience through timely and responsive communication with internal and external clients

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college/university
  • Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher (in major and overall)
  • Some travel may be required, up to 20%
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire (visa sponsorship is not available for this position)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Desire or the ability to sit for the CPA exam
  • Desire to obtain the Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV), Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), and/or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credentials

Pay

New York Salary Range: $27 – $39 USD

Virginia Wage Range: $27 – $39 USD (non-exempt positions eligible for overtime pay at one and a half times the hourly rate for hours worked over 40 in a work week)
