Intern - Finance

Hilltop Securities Inc. is seeking qualified students for a Summer Intern position on our Finance team. This in-person internship runs from May 27, 2027 to July 30, 2027, with opportunities in downtown Dallas at our HTS Tower location and at various branch locations nationwide.

About the role

This internship offers hands-on experience in the financial services industry, working closely with our Finance team to assist with key initiatives. Interns will develop entry-level skills in finance, accounting, or tax, and contribute to finance organization transformation tasks.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to basic functions in Finance, Accounting, or Tax
• Provide clerical and administrative support
• Assist with strategic planning, including monthly analysis, projections, and identifying trends for revenues and expenses
• Support projects related to analyzing firm performance and compiling reports
• Perform ad hoc work, including interaction and support for requests from C-suite and executive leadership
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Rising Senior pursuing a degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, statistics, or a related field (preferred)
• Some experience (1–2 years) preferred but not required
• Proficiency with computer hardware, operating systems (Windows or Mac), and software/applications (MS Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and PowerBI is a plus
• Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
• Proven self-starter who can initiate tasks and follow up to completion
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Desire to learn about career opportunities in the financial services industry
• Must have authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship
