About the role
We are seeking an Intern (Enterprise Architecture) - Fall 2026 to join our mission-driven team. This position offers hands-on experience in enterprise architecture frameworks, governance processes, and technology strategy practices. The intern will support department activities, analyze technology solutions, document architecture standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Handle department assigned projects with a moderate degree of independence.
- Meet with supervisors to discuss the status and progress of assignments.
- Gain exposure to enterprise architecture frameworks, governance processes, and technology strategy practices.
- Support technology assessments, research, and analysis of emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and enterprise architecture processes.
Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
- Project management skills and the ability to motivate and lead multi-program teams and external committees/coalitions.
- Proficiency in using computer and appropriate software (e.g., Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Develop rapport and establish effective working relationships with CalOptima Health's leadership and staff.
- Work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Manage multiple projects and identify opportunities for internal and external collaboration.
- Utilize computer and appropriate software (e.g., Microsoft Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and job specific applications/systems to produce correspondence, charts, spreadsheets, and/or other information applicable to the position assignment.

Pay
The pay grade for this role is 301, with a range of $47,840 - $64,584 ($23.00 - $31.0500) based on education, job-related knowledge and experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity among other factors.
Schedule
This position is approved for Full Office. If telework is approved, you are required to work within the State of California only and if Partial Telework, also come in to the Main Office in Orange, CA, at least two (2) days per week minimum.
