About the role
CGRC’s Therapeutic Children’s Programs include our CREATE Program, which provides group social skills services for children and adolescents diagnosed with autism (ages 3-21). The program aims to help participants build social and communication skills, improve problem-solving and emotional regulation, and enhance flexibility and motivation.
Responsibilities
- Provides specific therapeutic support services including immediate behavioral reinforcements, emotional support, and time-structuring activities.
- Sets up the room for the program daily.
- Maintains and supports client progress on goals and objectives as outlined in the treatment plan.
- Demonstrates therapeutic relationship skills, including understanding of boundary issues and confidentiality.
Qualifications
This is an unpaid internship. To apply, you should be looking for an opportunity to learn, develop, and expand your competencies in treating Autism and other childhood mental health diagnoses. You should also be open to new clinical experiences both individually and as part of a team, and interested in developing your leadership competencies and career interests.
