Who We Are

The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health is a 156‑bed private behavioral health system located on 13 acres in the Greenville, South Carolina area. Specializing in psychiatric programs and substance‑abuse treatments such as detox and rehab, the Center serves Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and areas throughout South Carolina and western North Carolina. Position Summary

We currently have availability for Master’s‑level internships seeking to gain experience assisting with therapeutic services to patients, including group therapy, crisis intervention, and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate therapy groups
• Complete psychosocial assessments
• Maintain patient, program, department, and related documentation
• Effectively communicate with patient families or social support networks
• Perform effective discharge planning
• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
• Participate in treatment care planning and help implement the treatment plan
• Apply substantial knowledge of therapeutic skills to intervene with behavioral‑health patients
• Participate in restraint and seclusion of patients when required
• Support hospital Service Excellence standards
• Complete annual and other required training in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required; enrollment in a Master’s degree program in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, or a similar field required
• Experience: No prior experience required
• Familiarity with machines, tools, and equipment such as telephone, computer and software programs, paging system, audio‑visual equipment, fax machine, copy machine, physical restraints, first‑aid items, program manuals, and shredder
