About Our Unit

This unit is located at Thomas Jefferson University Campus. Jefferson Einstein Hospital is Magnet Recognized. Jefferson is also recognized as the 2nd Best Hospital in the Philadelphia Metro area and the 3rd Best Hospital in Pennsylvania.

Schedule

Schedules are available 6 weeks in advance. The work schedule commitment for this position requires the following:

• Must be able to work rotating shifts (day & night)
• Must be able to work three (3) twelve (12) hour shifts on a weekly basis
• Must be able to work every third (3rd) weekend
• Holiday commitment consists of 1 holiday per season

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, Patient Care Tech IIs will provide direct bedside care to patients:

• Performs assigned nursing procedures for the comfort and well-being of the patient
• Maintains appropriate documentation on all assigned patients, including flow sheets
• Maintains advanced knowledge and experience with phlebotomy and lab specimen collection including T&S, Blood Cultures
• Assists physicians with examinations and tests as needed
• Other tasks include respiratory services and rehabilitation services

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• One of the following is required: PCT or related certification, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), EMT
• Minimum of 2 years nursing assistant, PCT, or healthcare experience required. Certification and completion of advanced skills and knowledge training within six months of hire accepted in lieu of experience requirement
• AHA BLS required
