Responsibilities
Apply critical thinking related to financial reporting.
Provide outstanding customer service to multiple agency contacts.
Formulate opinions independently.
Prepare and analyze statewide financial reports, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Analyze and provide comments on the impact of proposed Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements and their effect on the State-wide financial statements.
Extract, analyze, and report on financial data retrieved from the statewide accounting system.
Aid in the maintenance, review, analysis, and evaluation of the statewide accounting system.
Support State agency personnel with various accounting issues.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
Substitutions may be allowed based on professional certifications or additional relevant experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Experience in interpreting and applying GAAP.
Knowledge of Governmental Accounting and GASB Standards.
Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel.
Knowledge of the statewide accounting system and data warehouse reports.
Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Flexibility, self-motivation, and ability to work independently or as part of a group with little supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
