Responsibilities

  • Repair, refurbishment and reinstallation of interior upholstery components on world class business aircraft
  • General upholstery on aircraft – seats, panels and other interior items
  • Removal and installation of seats
  • Disassembly, cleaning, repair and modifications of components as needed
  • Performing basic to advanced foam build ups, patterning and sewing of seat parts and other upholstery items
  • Performing minor modifications
  • Daily turnover sheets
  • Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling
  • Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases
  • Maintaining cleanliness of shop and surroundings
  • Working independently when required
  • Effectively and clearly communicating (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Requirements

  • A High school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not required

Experience Levels

  • Tech I: 0–2 years of experience on upholstery in aviation, auto, RV, marine or related field. These technicians have very limited to no knowledge of the position and require close supervision and constant check-ins on work performance.
  • Tech II: 2–4 years of experience on upholstery in aviation, auto, RV, marine or related field. Considerable knowledge of the job with a broad understanding of detailed aspects; requires general supervision and instructions.
  • Tech III: 4–6 years of experience on upholstery in aviation, auto, RV, marine or related field. Full knowledge of the job and complete understanding of detailed aspects; requires limited supervision and can act as a trainer or mentor to other technicians.
  • Master Tech: 6+ years’ experience in aviation upholstery. Exclusive knowledge in all areas of the job; subject matter expert with a wide and comprehensive knowledge of the job.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifts 50 lbs
  • Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting
  • Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands with emphasis on grasping, feeling and finger dexterity
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas

Mental Requirements

  • Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines including but not limited to OSHA, Hazmat, etc.
  • Work with others in a professional manner
  • Read and comprehend various documents
  • Plan and organize procedures and operations

Schedule

2nd shift schedule is Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:00 AM. The shift incentive includes a 10%–15% premium, paid lunch, 3-day weekends, formal airframe training and eligibility to transfer to 1st shift after 3 years.
