About the role

This is a Full-Time On-Site position at West Star Aviation in Perryville, MO. West Star is a rapidly growing MRO provider with a strong commitment to employee development and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for interior finish processes, including wood finishes, gloss and satin applications, and sanding of hardwood.
• Completion of aircraft interior cabinet finishes.
• Aid in paint and techniques for major modification projects.
• Identify colors and color matches as needed.
• Basic knowledge of stains, lacquers, clear coats, and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of dry and wet sanding, and maintenance of shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
• Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Maintain cleanliness of shop and surroundings.
• Work independently when required.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements

• A High school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not required.
• Experience: Tech I 0-2 years, Tech II 2-4 years, Tech III 4-6 years, Master Tech 6+ years in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related field.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation to get to work each day.
• Pass a respirator fit test.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of paints, spraying equipment, and chemicals.
• Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines including OSHA, Hazmat, etc.
• Ability to read and comprehend various documents.
• Plan and organize procedures and operations.

Skills

• Basic computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of stains, lacquers, clear coats, and safety procedures.
• Knowledge of dry and wet sanding.
• Basic knowledge of paints and spraying equipment.
• Basic knowledge of chemicals (thinners, catalysts, cleaners, etc.) and safety procedures.
• Basic knowledge of aircraft interior finishes.
