Interior Technical Maintenance Mgr
About the role
Under the oversight of the Manager, Facility Operations, this role is responsible for the interior maintenance, outfitting, and facilities of the company’s vessels and Island destinations. You will work in a diverse and inclusive environment, contributing to the magic of Disney while ensuring excellence and safety.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain Continuous Review Processes (CRP).
- Work with Facility Manager and ship facility teams to ensure SQS standards are maintained.
- Assist with specifications for new ships, seeking to minimize cost while improving product efficiency.
- Support projects, including preparations for Dry-dock interior projects as assigned.
- Partner with ship’s management to discuss interior and exterior maintenance and provide shore support as needed.
- Prepare monthly status reports for front and back of house areas, including crew quarters, outlining focus areas, priorities, and scheduled completion dates.
- Be available to sail when needed.
- Conduct SQS walk processes.
- Use AMOS database for purchase orders and ensure timely close-out of items on the global maintenance list.
- Indirectly lead the Interior Furnishing Plan (IFP) team, assisting in developing a long- and short-term IFP strategy with accurate financials for the fleet.
- Coordinate interior projects across all phases, including financial planning and execution.
- Research and introduce new, more economical and effective products.
- Create procedures to reduce labor hours spent by the deck maintenance crew on interior repairs.
- Uphold general safety management responsibilities in areas under your control (SMS).
Requirements
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including telephone etiquette.
- Strategic planner with sound technical and people skills, analytical ability, sound judgment, and operational focus.
- Strong leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to communicate in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a highly diverse environment.
- High attention to detail with strong negotiation and organizational skills.
- Strong IT skills and competence with Microsoft Office.
- Operational business knowledge related to Project Management, including budget and schedule management.
- Proven knowledge of technical and interior maintenance work.
- Ability to travel and be flexible with work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of Disney Show quality.
- Experience handling confidential large-scale concurrent projects.
- Dry Dock experience.
- Maritime experience.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or greater certification.
- PMP or other project management certifications.
Pay
The hiring range for this position in Celebration, FL is $110,000 to $147,500 per year. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
