About the Role

Create 2D space plans and 3D visuals for classrooms, admin areas, media centers, cafeterias, collaboration spaces, and other educational environments. Build product selections that align with budget, lead times, and district standards. Produce client-ready presentations, including boards, renderings, alternates, and value engineering options. Coordinate with Sales, Quote/Bid Desk, and Project Management/Install teams to ensure designs are accurate, complete, and installable. Collaborate with architecture and design (A&D) firms to keep furniture plans updated with construction revisions. Maintain organized project files, revision control, and clean handoffs between departments. Help drive speed and consistency by improving templates, standards, and workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 2D space plans and 3D visuals for educational and commercial interiors.
  • Select products that meet budget, lead time, and district standards.
  • Create client-ready presentations, including renderings, alternates, and value engineering options.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Quote/Bid Desk, and Project Management/Install teams to ensure designs are feasible and accurate.
  • Work with A&D firms to align furniture plans with construction revisions.
  • Maintain organized project files, revision control, and seamless handoffs between departments.
  • Improve templates, standards, and processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.

Requirements

  • Experience in commercial interiors and/or furniture dealership design.
  • NCDIQ Certification.
  • Strong space-planning fundamentals, including circulation, ADA awareness, and real-world install constraints.
  • Proficiency in CET, SketchUp, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without oversight.
  • Clear communication skills to translate design decisions to sales, quoting, installers, and clients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • K-12 project experience, including familiarity with district standards, typical room types, and fast timelines.
  • Experience with value engineering and creating alternates.
  • Ability to produce room-by-room packages and install-ready documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive, and Canva.
