About the role
This is a full-time, on-site position based in South Bend, Indiana, with immediate start or availability within a few months preferred. Relocation assistance may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to develop creative and functional interior design solutions.
- Support projects through all design phases, including concept development, documentation, and construction administration.
- Select finishes, fixtures, materials, and equipment based on project requirements, design intent, budget, and performance criteria.
- Present finish selections and design concepts to project teams and clients/owners.
- Incorporate approved finishes and design elements into construction documents and project specifications.
- Develop detailed interior design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Review applicable building codes and standards to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and other project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain strong client relationships and support project communication.
- Conduct site visits as needed and prepare construction observation reports.
- Represent the firm professionally and contribute positively to team collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from an accredited program preferred.
- NCIDQ Certification is preferred.
- Interior Design registration in at least one U.S. state is highly desired but not required.
- LEED AP certification is a plus.
- Relevant interior design experience, including internship experience.
- Ability to conceptualize interior design solutions and develop construction documents for implementation.
- Strong communication, presentation, and graphic design skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD required.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, SketchUp, and rendering software such as Lumion, V-Ray, or Enscape is a plus.
