Interior Designer

(Sr. title indicates greater level of experience and expertise. An Interior Designer is a licensed interiors coordinator) The Interior Designer position provides unlicensed or developing interior designers with the opportunity to coordinate the production and delivery of design documents for a variety of clientele and project types. In this role they gain the experience needed and develop the required skills to grow into the role of either an Interior Designer or Project Manager. Interior Coordinators are the future project leaders at Studio+. Qualifications Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of comparable experience working in a design firmPreferred candidates should hold a Bachelor of Interior Design degree from a CIDA accredited institutionProficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel. Studio+ was an early adopter of BIM and uses Revit on all projectsFurniture and Artwork (F,F&E)Construction administrative experienceIntent to aggressively pursue licensure is preferredAdditional drafting, illustration, and rendering experience is requiredAbility to engage in a collaborative workplace, which may involve working alongside fellow architects and maintaining professional relationships with clientsDesign professional developing skills in independent evaluation, judgement, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in the construction industryResponsible for specific design tasks requiring research, evaluation, and adaptation on assigned projectsPerform tasks with minimum supervision and capability to create deliverable schedules, coordination with consulting engineers and interior designersBasic Knowledge of interior design and architectural principles, practices and techniques as well as standard operations, policies and procedures of a firm within the A/E industryKnowledge of building materials, construction methods, codes, and regulationsAbility to demonstrate strong organizational and time management skillsAbility to be proactive in determining the necessary steps to meet objectives and performance expectations of position Tasks outlined, but not limited to those listed: Provide creative interior design solutions for various project conditions by drawing on an expertise built on experience and educationAbility to complete a project, start to finish to include being able to meet with clientsCoordinate small project teams of varying sizes and disciplines, effectively leveraging the strengths of the individual team members to guarantee project successResponsible for space planning, test fits, and drawing modifications for assigned projectsCollaborate with the interior design department to set standards for the future production of all design deliverablesResearch interior products and applies established interior design standards to achieve excellence in all Studio+ projectsResearch and select colors, finishes, and materialsOrganized documentation of all correspondence with Studio+ project team, engineers, and vendorsSupports business development activities through assistance with aids such as finish or mood boards, PowerPoint presentationsMaintains resource materials library including, interior design specifications, calculations, and industry standards. Manage and participate in all phases of projects including schematic design, design development, construction documents, technical specifications, bidding and negotiation, permitting, quality control, value engineering, and coordination of engineering disciplinesResearch and select colors, finishes, and materials and FF&E items such as furniture, artwork, and signage.
