Interior Designer

About the role

Assist with the execution of project goals throughout all phases: Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of the design including planning and three-dimensional studies.
• Independently assist in the design development and documentation of interior spaces to include drawings of floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, pattern designs, elevations, and details.
• Provide support to the Senior Interior Designer with furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specifications throughout all phases of interior design work.
• Produce drawings in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints.
• Identify, research, and apply building and life safety codes to applicable interior design work.
• Prepare renderings and other presentation materials.
• Participate in client meetings to gain client interaction and presentation experience.
• Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch lists. Site visits frequently require a physical walk-through of the site.
• Mentor less experienced interior design staff and provide guidance in the development of project documents.
• Actively participate and promote design quality.
• Understand proper application of materials.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
• Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
• Must be able to participate in the development of projects' technical or design characteristics and content.

• Strong creative design portfolio.
• Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects.
• Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
