About the role
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, who values design, storytelling, client engagement & relationship building. They possess the ability to integrate with a fully engineered team, skilled at all phases of commercial interior design including visioning, programming, space planning, finish selections, lighting design, furniture selection and specification, millwork detailing, and finish/furniture cost estimating. Exceptional client engagement and presentation skills are also required.
Responsibilities
- Create design documentation through all phases of a project in support of an interior renovation or new construction project.
- Engage in team coordination and lead design collaboration.
- Self-direct project work and tasks, as well as delegate and mentor staff.
- Prepare construction documents.
- Review & respond to shop drawings, submittals, RFIs and be responsible for on-site observation.
- Show excellent working knowledge of interior products & associated personnel network.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design.
- NCIDQ Certification.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Experience in workplace & K-12 markets.
- Knowledge of tenant improvement work is a plus.
- Experience in creating design documentation through all phases of a project.
- Ability to prepare construction documents.
- Experience in reviewing & responding to shop drawings, submittals, RFIs and being responsible for on-site observation.
- Excellent working knowledge of interior products & associated personnel network.
Qualifications
- 8-10 years of commercial Interior Design experience.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in BIM software & visualization methods.
