Interior Designer

About the role

As the Tiles & Stones Design Manager, you will oversee the design and drafting team, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality shop drawings and project designs. You will act as the primary liaison between clients, project managers, and the design team, driving operational excellence, design innovation, and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the tiles and stones drafting/design team to ensure efficient and accurate project execution.
• Review and approve shop drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and details to meet AWI, AWMAC, NKBA, or client-specific standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to align design output with project objectives and timelines.
• Develop workflows, guidelines, and best practices to enhance team productivity and design quality.
• Mentor and train junior designers/drafters, promoting professional growth and technical excellence.
• Monitor project budgets and schedules to ensure cost-effectiveness and on-time delivery.
• Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and emerging technologies to maintain innovative design approaches.
• Conduct professional client interactions, including calls, presentations, and project kick-offs, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design, Interior Design, or a related field, preferably with a focus on tiles and stones.
• 6–10 years of experience in tile and stone drafting/design, including 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office tools for documentation, reporting, and communication.
• Exceptional leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with clients, teams, and stakeholders.
• Ability to make strategic decisions, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines under pressure.
