Interim VP of Quality & Safety
Interim opportunity in Springfield, MA for a seasoned healthcare executive to lead quality, safety, and regulatory functions across a three-hospital system, including an academic medical center. Start date is immediate.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Interim VP of Quality & Safety will oversee a team of five direct reports and drive the organization’s High Reliability Journey. Key initiatives include enhancing accountability, standardizing system-wide quality dashboards, and ensuring Joint Commission readiness across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead quality, safety, and regulatory functions for a health system with three hospitals, including an academic medical center.
- Advance the organization’s High Reliability Journey.
- Enhance accountability and system-wide standardization of quality dashboards.
- Support Joint Commission readiness across multiple sites.
- Drive performance improvement and change management initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in a healthcare-related field strongly preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma) preferred.
- Vice President experience in a health system or academic medical center setting.
- Proven track record in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Strong system-level leadership, change management, and communication skills.
- Highly organized, patient-focused, and adaptable to changing needs.
- Must be available to start within 2–3 weeks of acceptance.

Pay
Compensation range: $215,000 to $230,000 annually. Final rate determined by experience, education, training, location, internal equity, and budget considerations.
