Interim Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Perform bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and entities.
• Review and analyze intercompany invoices to ensure proper company and vendor allocations.
• Investigate and research uncleared checks and outstanding transactions.
• Determine appropriate disposition of uncleared checks, including write-offs, void and reissue activity, or remittance to applicable states.
• Support escheatment compliance efforts across multiple states.
• Apply strong debit and credit knowledge to resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Analyze financial statements and supporting documentation for accuracy.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions to organize, reconcile, and validate financial data.
• Cross-reference accounting records and supporting schedules to identify inconsistencies.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership to address backlog items and meet project deadlines.
• Maintain accurate documentation of research findings and accounting conclusions.
• Aid in special accounting projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of bank reconciliation experience within a company with at least $50M in annual revenue.
• 2+ years of accounting experience with strong understanding of debits and credits.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience, including SUMIFs, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data cross-referencing.
• Experience reviewing financial statements and accounting records.
• QuickBooks experience preferred.
• Microsoft Navision experience preferred.
• Escheatment experience preferred.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
