Interim Staff Accountant
Responsibilities
- Perform bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and entities.
- Review and analyze intercompany invoices to ensure proper company and vendor allocations.
- Investigate and research uncleared checks and outstanding transactions.
- Determine appropriate disposition of uncleared checks, including write-offs, void and reissue activity, or remittance to applicable states.
- Support escheatment compliance efforts across multiple states.
- Apply strong debit and credit knowledge to resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Analyze financial statements and supporting documentation for accuracy.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions to organize, reconcile, and validate financial data.
- Cross-reference accounting records and supporting schedules to identify inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with accounting leadership to address backlog items and meet project deadlines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of research findings and accounting conclusions.
- Aid in special accounting projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of bank reconciliation experience within a company with at least $50M in annual revenue.
- 2+ years of accounting experience with strong understanding of debits and credits.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience, including SUMIFs, VLOOKUPs, XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data cross-referencing.
- Experience reviewing financial statements and accounting records.
- QuickBooks experience preferred.
- Microsoft Navision experience preferred.
- Escheatment experience preferred.
- Construction industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
