About the role

The University Registrar at Plymouth State University provides leadership in planning, organizing and managing all of the activities related to the operations of the Office of the Registrar and ensures that the activities and practices in the areas of responsibility reflect best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the academic records of all students
  • Plans and implements course scheduling
  • Curriculum maintenance
  • Reporting
  • Serves as the University's Residency Officer
  • Consults with Academic and Administrative Departments
  • Implements faculty academic policies and reviews policy exception requests
  • Recommends and participates in the development and implementation of University policies and procedures regarding student orientation, registration, records, class schedules, and instructional space scheduling and graduation requirements
  • Serves as a voting member on the University Curriculum committee and other PSU committees
  • Maintains student academic history records
  • Provides statistics & other data in various forms to internal/external customers
  • Manages compliance with FERPA regulations

Requirements

  • University FERPA Officer
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in registration and student records or a closely related area in higher education OR Master's degree and 3+ years of experience
  • Two years of supervisory experience
  • First-rate customer service experience
  • Strong computer skills and technological experience with student information systems (PSU currently uses the SunGard Banner system)
  • In-depth working knowledge of the form and table structure of SunGard Banner
  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation of short and long-term goals
  • Experience using 25Live scheduling software
  • Experience with DegreeWorks
  • Experience with reporting solutions such as Crystal Reports, MS Access, and Excel
  • Excellent ability to build strong working relationships throughout the university community
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Record of leading and facilitating change
