About the role
We are seeking a professional Registrar for our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for ensuring that patients are admitted efficiently, courteously, and in a timely manner. You will be an asset to our team by providing accurate demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate coding, billing and claims submission.
Mid-America Surgery Institute is an accredited surgery center staffed by a skilled team of registered nurses and OR techs. Our suites are equipped with sophisticated monitors, technical equipment, and instrumentation, performing over 600 cases a month. Our specialties include urology, orthopedics, plastics, ENT, gastroenterology, OB/GYN, podiatry, and pain. The center is located next to Menorah Medical Center, in close proximity to the center of town. We are a proud member of the Ambulatory Surgery Division of HCA Healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate patient admissions, including reviewing all information with patients, completing appropriate forms, and copying insurance cards and photo identification
- Collect and document all collection actions for patient co-payments and deductibles at the time of service and issue appropriate payment receipts
- Perform routine clerical and administrative functions
- Prepare, collect, and deliver patient charts and pull previous medical records
- Perform insurance verification
- Manage the reception area and greet patients and family members in a professional manner
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical office setting (e.g., ambulatory surgery center, hospital, doctors' office)
- BLS may be required as per facility standard
